A sound research was carried out in the Roman district of San Lorenzo, a historical place with a double life. During the day in the sunlight, one walks through the narrow streets between a bookshop and a family-run bar, listens to the voices of the inhabitants and smells freshly baked dishes from the windows. A cheerful, lively hubbub overlaps the hubbub of traffic, the sound of water from the fountain and children's games in the park. As the sun goes down, the neighbourhood opens its doors to nightlife, to all the young people one can meet. On the streets, only locals and happy people gather in small or large groups. No noise of cars and transport within the walls of the neighbourhood, just voices and the clink of wine glasses and music. SanLo' starts from the concept of soundscape by monitoring the evolution of ambient sounds in this neighbourhood weekly. The result is a sound morphing of the entire sampling recorded by walking the same route, every day, at different times.
